The older I get I seem to reflect more on the past...probably because there's more of that than the future now. I also admit to reading my old newspaper, The Palo Verde Valley Times. I was once the publisher there many moons ago. I feel bad for H.B. because he was only a cub reporter while I ascended the ladder from ace reporter (the police beat) to advertising manager and then grand poobah. It also seems that Larry coveted my esteemed position because he started his own newspaper so he could be a publisher.
Anyway, one of the things I read the most in the old PV Times is the obituary column. I read recently about the untimely death of Johnny Mae Lilly, mother of Billy Lilly. That's right, that Billy Lilly. I wonder where Billy is today? Of course, I'm wondering only in the platonic sense considering the sexual preference of Mr. Lilly.
Well, I've done some research and discovered that Billy is 53 years old and living in Riverside, California. That's all I know about Billy, but it's more than I did. Larry and I used to share rides with Billy to school in our 1963 Chevrolet Impala (the sweat hog as we affectionately called it). We also rode in his nicer 1967 fast back Chevrolet Impala. Billy always did have better taste than we did. I wonder why? He also had a higher singing voice and prettier too if I recall, but not as soulful as Leonard Wiley's. I wonder where he is now? Maybe someplace close to Riverside?
Wow, what a college choir we had back then. It was me, Larry, Kathleen, Leonard Wiley, Billy Lilly, Karen and Roger Morgan, Jody John and our director. I can't remember his name, but Billy used to make fun of him for wearing lime green bikini underwear under his white pants. I never was sure if it was to entice the girls in the choir or Leonard or Billy. Or maybe Larry. Larry always did get better grades than me in that class.
Some trivia questions for all of you: (You'll have to ask the original Arnett's about this). Where did Billy Lilly live? What was his ethnic origin? and, What was so unusual about his house?
In closing I'd just like to say, "God Bless The Child That's Got His Own".

More input on Lake Powell needed!

Kensie, Lexie and Pammie and Lake Powell
Okay, the wedding was great although I do feel bad I can't still do the splits. Lexis has a job at a very posh salon and she now can come out of her tv dungeon. Pam is doing better after spending all day Sunday at the University of Utah Emergency Center. We still don't know what's wrong but the painkillers make it bearable. We've got this week to get her better, we're just glad it wasn't what they thought it was in Park City....a blood clot.
Having had the chance to travel by Lake Powell twice in the past week, I thought about the reunion we had there. There have been alot of changes in the family since then, meaning new additions and even a subtraction, but the additons have more than made up for any ...well anyway, you know what I mean. I was thinking that perhaps we should relive the excitement in the year 2007. How about early June? The water level will be higher then and it shouldn't be so crowded, plus Chad could go then just before his mission. The Russian Arnetts need to give their input as to their timetable. The Irish Arnetts also, along with any U.S. Arnetts. I propose we call it the "Give something up" Reunion. Perhaps we could all give up some bad habit or bad character flaw in order to reward ourselves with this adventure. For example, I could give up 40 pounds or Dr. Pepper, or being mean to my wife, etc. Lindsay could give up single womanhood, etc. We should post on this blog what we are willing to give up for this trip. Give it some thought and let's hear from everyone. Someone needs to get to Cliff's family and tell them about the blogs, etc. Let's get it going. What say ye all?

Rides to Conference, Target et al....

Spoke with a certain young man today wanting to inquire what he thought of conference. He said it was really good and that he had a good seat. I asked in the Marriott Center? He replied no, in the conference center. It seems he went to the Sunday afternoon session and enjoyed it immensely, especially the part where Pres. Hinckley waived to him with his cane afterward.
He caught a ride with a fellow BYU student after a ticket was made available for him by a friend vistiting from Gilbert. Nice of Duece to do that, uh Chad. Did you catch the ride to Salt Lake from one of the same BYU'ers that ferries you to Target, Wal-mart, et. al.?
I ran across a picture that may explain why Chad is able to get so many rides.

More photos, musings and memories!

Cleaning out my computer files I came across these photos. Remember, this is about me and for me, so it's all about me and mine, not you and yours. Although on behalf of me and mine I'd like to welcome you and yours to my blog. Do you remember the Lake Powell reunion, we do. Also, like Chad, Elvis has left the building for Utah and even as a little tike, he could outfish you Lacy.

A couple of questions and then a comment. Is the iron rod spoken of in Lehi's dream a one dimensional object or is it multi-deminsional? Can you let go of the iron rod and get back on where you would have been had you not let go? Just some questions as we prepare for the Sabbath.
My film recommendation..."A Tree Grows in Brooklyn". Rent it, or own it. It's in Black and White. My abstract attempt to illustrate what it's all about is shown here.

Guess who is missing her son?

Along with tainted spinach one of the top stories in America is how much Pam misses her son who is away attending the university of his choice. All reports are he is doing well, although he is waiting for someone to call him to play golf on Fridays. Thanks to another blogger, we have learned he shops at Target and in true Arnett fashion he was flanked by some eye-candy. Just as a side note, he also recently met a young lady who has gone through some difficult times in the past -- one Elizabeth Smart. He says its turning cold in Utah and wants more money for a coat. I told him I'm sure there are some helpful store clerks at Goodwill and DI that could fit him with a really nice one, but for some reason he's set on a snowboard type coat. I have a feeling that is a veiled reference to some upcoming trips to a few mountainous regions when it snows which he says could be anyday now.

Photos that you can copy!
This is my feeble attempt to create what I see "In My Mind's Eye". It's supposed to go along with the song. And, after all is said and done, this is all that's left!! (Hombre's trailer and one of the old Internationals)
Incidentally, a fire broke out in Cibola, burning
everything to the ground...over 8,000 acres.
It was caused by lightning.

Can anyone identify this person?
All about me!
The art to the left is called "Colorshark" and the one below is called "Charting the Universe". For full color prints of this just send $2,400 to me.

Since my blog link has been deleted by most of you, I have decided to create a blog about me, for me. It's all about my musings and pontifications, mostly about me. Choose to put it on your links list or not, but here it is.
First of all I am going to show some of my abstract art. Then I'm going to put on some photos I have that should be shared. Then I'm going to give you all a life's lesson, but that's upcoming.
I want back on the links page!!!!!!!
